Lithuanian geographical society, which will celebrate 80th anniversary in Vilnius, on 26-27th of September 2014 invites to international conference “Challenges of society for geographical research in the Baltic Sea Region” III congress of Lithuanian geographers.
The conference is a part of programme of the Congress, devoted for the revelation of the main trends of development of geographical research in Lithuania and Baltic Sea countries.
The plenary presentations of invited researchers will take place during the first day of the event. Main trends of geographical research in Lithuania and other Baltic Sea states will be presented. The parallel sessions of the conference “Challenges of society for geographical research in Baltic sea region“ will take place during the second day of the event. Researchers from all Baltic Sea countries as well as those involved in research of Baltic Sea countries are welcomed.
The main aim of the event is to summarise the situation of Geographical research around the Baltic Sea area; therefore presentations of the newest scientific findings and as well as common trends of development of the discipline trends in Baltic Sea countries are welcomed. Selected papers will be published in the special issue of scientific periodical „Geographical yearbook“.
Working languages: English and Lithuanian (with English translation)
The event is free of charge but participants will have to cover travel, self subsistence and accommodation costs. Participants may be asked to cover costs of participation in social events organised during the event (up to 50 Euro).
The scientific excursion around Vilnius region is foreseen at the afternoon of the second day of the event. The conference dinner is planned at the end of the first day of the conference.
Participation in the Congress is free, but organizers under no obligation to cover the trip to the conference, accommodation, meals and social events during the related costs.
